Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be greeted with a warm welcome by our company representative. After a brief introduction, you’ll have the opportunity to exchange some currency to the local Rwandan Franc before heading to your hotel. Your professional guide-driver will be waiting for you ahead of time, ready to assist with your luggage and ensure a smooth transfer to your hotel. Spend the night at Hotel Des Mille Collines, a luxury hotel located in the heart of Kigali, where you can relax and unwind from your journey.

Day 2 : Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
After breakfast, begin your day with a guided city tour of Kigali, starting with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial. This powerful and moving site provides insight into Rwanda’s history and the resilience of its people. After the tour, you will embark on a scenic drive southwest to Nyungwe National Park, home to one of Africa’s oldest rainforests and a haven for primates, including chimpanzees. The journey takes you through Rwanda’s breathtaking terraced hillsides and picturesque landscapes. In the afternoon, experience the canopy walk adventure in Nyungwe National Park, where you’ll walk across a suspended bridge that offers stunning views of the forest canopy and wildlife below.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Tea Plantation Visit
Start your day early with breakfast at your lodge before setting off on a thrilling hike to track chimpanzee communities in Nyungwe Forest. The park is home to approximately 400-500 chimpanzees, making this one of the best places in Africa to see these primates in their natural habitat. Listen for their distinctive pant-hoots as you make your way through the forest, and keep an eye out for other wildlife, such as the Ross’ turaco, grey-cheeked hornbill, red-breasted sparrowhawk, and regal sunbird. After your chimpanzee trekking experience, visit a local tea plantation where you’ll learn about Rwanda’s tea production and enjoy tasting freshly brewed tea. Later, transfer to the scenic shores of Lake Kivu, where you’ll spend the night.

Day 4: Lake Kivu Boat Cruise and Coffee Experience
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before embarking on a morning boat cruise on Lake Kivu, one of Africa’s Great Lakes. Explore the lake’s beautiful islands and enjoy the tranquil scenery. After the cruise, drive to Volcanoes National Park, with a stop at the Kopakiki Cooperative for an immersive coffee experience. Learn about Rwanda’s coffee production process, from crop to cup, and taste some of the country’s finest coffee. Upon arrival at Volcanoes National Park, relax and enjoy the amenities at your lodge.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Trekking and Cultural Experience
This day is dedicated to trekking the famous golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park. After an early breakfast, head to the park where you’ll embark on a guided trek to observe these playful and endangered primates. Spend about an hour watching them in their natural habitat as they jump from tree to tree. After the trek, enjoy lunch at the lodge or a local restaurant in Musanze city. In the afternoon, experience Rwandan culture with a visit to the Gorilla Guardians, formerly known as Ibyiwacu Cultural Village. Here, you’ll witness traditional dances, drumming, and storytelling, providing a deeper understanding of the local culture. Later, transfer back to Kigali to enjoy the vibrant city nightlife.

Day 6: Shopping, Relaxation, and Departure
On your final day in Kigali, take some time to relax, explore the city, or shop for souvenirs. Enjoy the amenities at your hotel or take a stroll through Kigali’s vibrant markets and shops. When it’s time for your departure, we will provide a transfer to Kigali International Airport for your outbound flight, marking the end of your unforgettable Rwandan safari.
